how to get started

  1. buy yourself a ukulele and tuner!
    • you can find one used on craigslist, ebay, etc.
    • buy one new online
    • go to your local guitar center
  2. Start with the basics, strumming C and G
    • Learn the C and G chords, commonly used on the ukulele and essential for learning almost any songs
    • Learn a strumming technique, we recommend the classic hawai'ian Down Down Up Up Down Up
    • practice switching back and forth between C and G chords with your new strumming technique
  3. Find a song and learn it!
